Getting Started

Follow the steps below when first using IQSweb.  For an overview of basic key strokes and navigation rules for IQSweb, Go to the Navigation page.

 

Steps

  1. Enable Pop-ups for the IQSweb application URL in your browser and toolbars such as Google.
     

  2. Create new users.
    Data is entered into the system using the Administration/Maintain Users menu option.  This data includes general information regarding the new user and password assignment for continued access to the IQS system  (Done by IQS user assigned the role of Manager).
     

  3. Add your organizations.  
    Data is entered into the system using the Reference Data/Organizations menu option.  This data includes the organizations identifier code, the organizations name, and the geographic area the unit falls within.  The establishment of these organizations is a critical factor in the successful implementation of IQS (Done by IQS user assigned the role of Manager).
     

  4. Assign organizational level access to users.
    Data is entered into the system using the Administration/Maintain User OLA menu option.  This data includes options for the organizations that the individual will be given access (Done by IQS user assigned the role of Manager).
     

  5. Enter any agency specific reference data.
    Data is entered into the system using the Reference Data menu option.  You may want to set up a list of issuers and certifiers or other data that is used for lookup and validation specific to your organization.  This option is also used to set expiration and warning periods for fitness expiration, refresher training warnings and other organizationally defined preferences.  Go through each of the sub-menu items under Navigate IQS/Reference Data and add any local codes you will need for your database (Done by IQS user assigned the role of Manager).
     

  6. Add persons to the database.  
    Data is entered into the system using the Person/Org menu option.  (Done by IQS user assigned the role of Manager or Data Entry).
     

  7. Use other IQSweb menu options to manage your incident qualifications and training.
